About Us
About Mayfly Rising
Mayfly Rising is a space for honest conversations, shared experiences, and thoughtful discussions about the realities women anglers face.
From access and safety to overcoming challenges within the sport, our goal is to inspire unity—so that together, we can build a better future for women in fishing.
Why We Started
Over the years, women from across the fishing community have shared their experiences—stories of strength, resilience, and commitment to the sport.
Mayfly Rising was created to bring those voices together in one place, where they can be heard, understood, and shared more broadly across the industry and community.
The Bigger Picture
Women represent a significant and growing part of the angling community.
But the conversation is not only about growth—it’s about sustaining those already in the sport. Many encounter challenges that affect long-term participation, from access and safety to broader structural barriers that can make independent fishing more difficult. Because of this, connection and support within the community become even more important.
As our community becomes more divided into smaller groups and niches, it becomes more difficult to connect, to understand one another, and to define our collective value.
What We Are Building
Mayfly Rising is built on the idea that connection strengthens community.
By bringing women together—across different experiences, perspectives, and approaches to fishing—we create a more unified and supportive environment.
Through conversation, shared knowledge, and awareness, we aim to support not just participation—but long-term presence in the sport.
